The successful musical career of Bil VornDick covers well over three decades. As a youth, his musical education and private tutoring on various instruments, excelled his performance in a leading band in the Washington D.C. area. When Bil was a teenager he enjoyed recording his songs in the studio and that lead him to record and produce other groups in his region. Signing his songs to a publisher in Nashville at 19, Bil was able to meet the leading heads of the music industry in Nashville who encouraged him to attend Belmont University where he gained a B.B.A. in Music Business.

Directly after graduation Bil was hired by Country Music Legend and Country Music Hall of Fame member Marty Robbins to be his Chief Recording Engineer. This position made the accessibility for him to work with the leading stars in Country Music. Over the years in Nashville, Bil became known internationally as one of the leading Engineer/Producers in his field. Developing and producing the career of such acts as the multiple Grammy winner Alison Krauss, shows the longevity of his work. Bil's work with other artists has caused 42 Grammy finalist, eight Grammy winners, and various multiple Gold and Platinum albums. Around 600 albums have his credits. Bil's accomplishments has lead to #1 records in 5 different styles of music. When it comes to awards in acoustic music Bil has received every one that can be won and in most instances he has many duplicates.

The artists that Bil has worked with in the studio reads like a who's who...from Bob Dylan, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, T.Bone Burnett, Maura O'Connel, Mark O'Connor and Ralph Stanley, to name a few. Bil's life in the studio has been very rewarding. A recent album he has produced "Clinch Mountain Country" and released in May 1998 is one of the largest collaborative recorded projects in Nashville, with thirty-six songs, 32 artists and won Album and Recorded Event of the year at IBMA 1999, plus #1 Country Album of the year 1998 in Rolling Stone. The album "Sweethearts" on Ralph Stanley was a Grammy Finalist for the year 2001.

Drawing from a background in music composition and arranging, Bil produced and/or engineered soundtracks for a documentary film with James Taylor, movies (Twisted Justice, Outlaw Force, The Loner, etc.), and jingles for major corporations (McDonalds, American Airlines, etc.).

Bil's dedication to the music industry has placed Bil on the Board of Directors of Belmont University's Advisory Board, South Plains College, North American Folk Alliance, a Who's Who in American Entertainment and in Europe, a leader "IN CHARGE" in the Nashville publication Music Row and Chairman of the Nashville Audio Engineering Society. P & E Wing committee member of NARAS that set the delivery and archival standard for digital recorded media. He also gives back by giving of his time by lecturing at MTSU, IBMA, MerleFest, South Plains College, Telluride Music Festival, Swannanoa Gathering and an adjunct professor at Belmont University, and offering internships each semester to qualified recording arts students at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) or Belmont University. He is a member of the CMA, IBMA, BSA, AES, Folk Alliance, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, F&AM, A&ASRF, and the Shrine.
